Dr Joseph O'Connor is a specialist orthodontist and owner founder of Dundrum Orthodontics, a practice built around precise, evidence-based treatment and genuinely personal care. He qualified in dentistry from Trinity College Dublin and completed specialist orthodontic training at the University of Queensland , earning a doctorate in Orthodontics (DClinDent). He is registered as a specialist orthodontist with the Dental Council of Ireland and is a member of [e.g. the Orthodontic Society of Ireland / British Orthodontic Society].
Dr O'Connor treats patients of all ages — from children and teenagers to adults seeking treatment for the first time. Dundrum Orthodontics offers the full range of modern orthodontic options, including fixed braces and clear aligner systems such as Invisalign, each tailored to the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. He takes particular pride in creating a calm, welcoming environment where patients feel informed and at ease at every stage of their treatment.
Dr O'Connor also founded and leads Terenure Orthodontics, and Dundrum marks the next step in bringing his considered, patient-first approach to more of south Dublin. He remains committed to staying at the forefront of his field, regularly undertaking continuing professional development to bring the latest techniques and technology to his patients. He lives locally with his wife and young family.

At Dundrum Orthodontics, we offer a full range of treatments to straighten teeth, correct bites and create healthy, confident smiles at any age. For children and teens, we provide fixed braces and early treatment to guide jaw development. For adults and older teens, we offer discreet options including Invisalign, Angel Align and Spark clear aligners and tooth-coloured ceramic braces. Costs & Payments
We believe a healthy smile should be affordable, so we offer flexible, interest-free payment plans that spread the cost of treatment over manageable monthly instalments. Your options will be set out clearly at your consultation, with no hidden fees. Orthodontic treatment also qualifies for tax relief in Ireland — we'll provide a completed Med 2 form so may be able to claim back 20% of the cost.
